i'm lugpol.pl member
i'd like to invite you to use and share with other LUGs your events
so we created google calendar

we think it can be good to have world-wide events repository in one shared place

I dont quite understand what is it going on. You want us to write into your calendar dates of events coming on our site? Or what?

this aint gonna be mine calendar
this gona be world-wide shared calendar with LUGs events

please treat it as a way to spread information about your events ie truck trial races or exhibitions all over the world

as i said i'm lugpol.pl member and we have such a calendar for many months already
now we decided to create new one for all lugs (or as many as possible)
so after some time this calendar could be centralized place to share events world-wide
meantime we entered our events

as this calendar is public everyone can search and read it
but only managing persons can add events to it
so to finalize connection of kostky to the calendar
we need to have maybe two or three persons who will be set as managers for this calendar

i hope i explained the idea
but if you have any questions please ask

OK I understand. At all, I think that it wont be such a problem for us, to write some dates intto it. And it looks like a great idea. I accept it.



PS: FOR KOSTKY MEMBERS: Who would like to be manager of this Calendar /only serious ones/ just write it here and admins will choose the people who will do that /I hope/.

Kto by chcel teda robit "managera" tochto kalendaru a mal by na to cas a je dost informovany, kludne sa sem prihlaste, a dufam ze admini  Vas vyberu /alebo ja/ a ze budu suhlasit. Ja osobne v tom nevidim problem.

První věta, které z celého tématu rozumím.

ide o to, ze polski susedia maju kalendar na mnoho mesiacov pre rozne akcie (truck trial, vystavy ...) a rozhodli sa, ze podobny kalendar vytvoria aj pre cely svet (aspon to je ich idea), kde by vsetci, ktori budu zainetersovani (a teraz lakaju aj kostky.org) mohli zdielat info o akciach, citat, zapisovat, potom navstivit

kalendar ma byt verejny, ale zapisovat budu moct tak dvaja/traja za kazdu komunitu

Nechápu, co je na tom složitého k pochopení - na jednom místě vidíš (ideálně) všechny akce, které se točí kolem LEGA.

Vyborne, rozrastla sa tu diskusia ohladne toho ci je to pre nas vyhodne alebo nie, avsak zatial som nevidel ani jeden navrh na jedneho z moderatorov. Aby som teda pomohol tomuto projektu tak sa hlasim, avsak dopredu hovorim ze na to budem potrebivat pomoc, hlavne do 30. juna. Hlasovanie prebehne neskor.

i found your language a little bit hard to read but as far as i understand some of you still don't like the calendar idea

what we would like to have and share with other lego users all over the world is one common place to put Lego User Groups events such as exhibitions and meetings

we invite your community to join the idea
calendar is public so everyone can find read and search it throught google
as mato said we would like to have few people from every LUG who will manage the calendar - put dates and so on
would be sensless to allow everyone to edit calendar because there will be no way to control and validate entries

would you like to participate?

Nechápu, co je na tom složitého k pochopení - na jednom místě vidíš (ideálně) všechny akce, které se točí kolem LEGA.

Díky za objasnění .
Nejde mi o techniku, ale o nějaký smysl. A ten mi zatraceně dál uniká....

To jakože jedu za měsíc do Varšavy a ejhle - nezapomenu se podívat do kalendáže a hurááá, je tam výstava --- dobrýý.
Nebo jakože budete jezdit na Petříně TTrial a ejhle - občan maďarské národnosti se dostaví s Truckem podpaždí a že se o nás odzvěděl z kalenáře .... :-(

Idea fajn, pěkná ....    ale dle mého soudu aplikovatelná lokálně .... boť globálně nemá většího významu...

Osobně nic proti nemám. Když to bude někdo smysluplně moderovat a udržovat aktuální, ale energii lze taky vynaložit jinak ...

I am realy sorry, man, by making you sad while reading our suspicious comments.  Do not worry, this is a technical discussion only. There is surely a kind intention behind your effort. But I (and maybe some others as well), we are questioning ourselves about some deeper purpose behind your idea. My only feeling is that such calender makes sence on a local level. It means between one or more clubs within a country, but not on a global level, where I do not see the clear advantage of having such calender too much.
Basicaly, as I said on a very beginning, it is a nice idea, but I know better ways to spend an energy.

Good luck anyway. And do not shoot on me.

Q: how much energy you have to spend to enter meeting's name and date
in terms of managing and keeping calendar up to date - once entered it stays - that's it
no one needs to dig and spend an energy updating this calendar

scenario (polish one but i suppose it looks more or less the same in every LUG)
1. meeting idea appears (on forum)
2. people discuss terms dates and places
3. once set someone puts it into calendar
voila

there is no need to remaind people when and where there is a meeting
"oh sorry guys i forgot when we meet"
didn't you have to spend an energy to answer posts like this... few times

i know you have your own calendar
but maybe one day we will meet on truck trial race...

anyway
it costs nothing to try for few months...

No musím se ztotožnit s JardouL. Ani já nevidím v tomto kalendáři větší smysl. Z cizích akcí mě více méně zajímá jen jedna, jelikož dostat se na jiné je pro mě bez šance. Co se týká lokálního využití, tak v tom také nevidím nějaké plus. Naše fórum v sobě integrovaný kalendář má, ale ani v něm se akce moc neaktualizují, takže mám trochu pochyby, že v googlovém by tomu nebylo jinak
